Murdoch Law Alumni

About Us

The Semester 2, 2000 edition of Carpe Diem contained the following notice:

Attention Final Year Students!

On 15 June 2000, a meeting of law grads voted unanimously to form the Murdoch Law Alumni. As presently constituted, the Alumni’s goals and objectives are to foster links amongst law school alumni, support the law school and is student societies, & maintain a link between the law school and is alumni.

Before the Alumni can implement its goals, it must maintain the whereabouts of its members. As you’ll be graduating at the end of the year, you can notify the alumni of your whereabouts by email to alumni@law.murdoch.com.edu, or by post… or by contacting Jay Leary, (President), Cameron Cross (Vice-President), Donna Hsu (Secretary).

Regrettably, after that first Annual General Meeting in 2000, the organisation fell into abeyance.

In 2022, Tania Jeyamohan (now a Registrar of the District Court of Western Australia), Jessica Berry (a part-time lecturer at the School of Law and in-house lawyer at P&N bank), and Dave Stewart (a principal at Bennett, and adjunct professor at the School of Law) met to discuss the reinvigoration of the Murdoch Law Alumni. That lead to the creation of this website.

Part of the purpose of the website is to serve as an archive. We very gratefully accept any images of memorabilia, photographs, ad anything else which you think would be of interest to the alumni group.

The other purpose of the website is to provide news – news of the location and career paths of alumni, and news of forthcoming events.

We hope you enjoy the website.
