In September 1992, Penny Moore (1994) bravely volunteered to be the convenor of the Australian Law Students Association conference after the law students society of the Northern Territory University (as it was then) was unable to do so. This was a significant moment for MSLS and the School of Law – drawing attention within the legal profession to the nascent law school and is students. The cover page of Carpe Diem made the announcement and put out a call for volunteers.
