Some of you might be curious as to the origins of the logo on this website.

When the School of Law was being established in the late 1980s, then-Professor Ralph Simmonds commissioned the logo as a means to draw attention to the forthcoming School’s existence, as well as use it for fund-raising.

In 1991, the School applied to register the logo as a trade mark. An extract of the registration – long-ago lapsed – is set out below.
